Let’s Be Thankful

Oil on canvas, 24 x 36 inches, 2020

My paintings typically reflect the physical and digital clutter that we all find overwhelming at times, but Let’s Be Thankful is a respite from that. This painting depicts a fleeting moment of quiet contemplation. It’s inspired by a real place: a now long-gone Pilates studio that I used to frequent, which was housed in a 19th-century church on Queen Street West in Toronto.
